Life since parents went to the states has been not too much different from normal, minus the slightly increased loneliness at home and the need to become more independent in cleaning, organising things and schedules, and cooking.
I think I'm not doing too bad, being able to keep with med school and getting at least 6hrs sleep every night.
The most exciting thing that happened was the plumbing spoiling.
It was in the middle of the night when I heard a splashing sound. Originally i thought it was just the people upstairs flushing or using water, so I continued sleeping. When I woke up the following day, I rushed off to school cause I was running late. So when I got back, I found the bathroom more or less flooded :/
Cousin and I had to tie up the pipes, tape up the connections, and put pails to collect water. Fun stuff, i guess just a prelude to what's to come as I grow up more. It's not exactly like hall life, but the becoming independent part should be quite similar...
On that note, I might try for hall or uTown next semester. Living in school really seems much more convenient and fun! (Especially after hearing stories from the cool people who went for the NEXUS camp.)
The people I will meet from other faculties is also a big plus point.
Btw, I just got back from 4 days at NEXUS camp in Gopeng Malaysia :D
Represented Judo for the camp (tgt with Jiamin), when it was intended for CCA leaders only.
Had to grab this opportunity when the leaders all cmi. 4 days of caving, white water rafting, and games all free of charge! Though I only used RM30 out of 300 on shopping, it was really a good experience.
Probably the first time I felt like I was in uni thus far...
Somehow, all the people there had a different feel from med sch people (not sure if good or bad)
They were all very very VERYYY easygoing, even if they are not that extroverted. Must thank Brandon, Linus, Roy, Nat, Manli, Jingru, Luke, Richard, Zhengyang, Frankie, Jing Yi for making the trip memorable.
It's a little sad that after this, we probably wont be meeting intentionally already, but I'm happy for this experience :)
It's something that will definitely be missed.
From these few days interacting with the leaders of the NUS clubs, I feel like I definitely wont mind trying for a leadership position in my own CCA in the future...
Even as a med student, there is life :D
